The highest point is about 2,800, but generally we are trekking on level of around 2,200m, walking down to the Terai flatland.

This is a mainly a forest area with Alder and broadleaf trees. We go through forest villages - where they are a surprising amount of birds like Raid Tailed Minlar, Ruffus Tailed Flycatcher, Ferruginous Flycatcher. We trek through jungle paths through the natural bamboo habitat of such rare birds as Slender Billled Scimitar Babbler (known locally as 'sculky bird' for its retisance at appearing), Brown Parrot Bill, Golden Breasted Fulvetta, Ruby Cheeked Sunbird and and the tiny Yellow Bellied Warbler.

This is a camping trek, and we spend at least 2 nights in Hange Tham, a beautiful camp site, surrounded by cardomen forest, and rich with birdlife.
