Tibet Overland Tour with Turquoise Lake Yamdrok (8 days)

Our most popular tour is 8 days in which you go overland from Nepal and fly back from Lhasa. The trip encompasses ancient monasteries as well as more remote landscapes, and includes a trip to the famous turquoise Lake Yamdrok.

You travel by tourist bus from Kathmandu to Friendship bridge, Kodari (Nepal Tibet border) approximately 116 kms. and 5hrs drive. After we cross Nepal and at Zhangmu immigration, our representative from China will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.

We end the tour at Lhasa from where we fly back to Kathmandu

Day 01	Arrival in Kathmandu, meet & transfer to hotel.
Day 02	Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with guide.
Day 03	Tour departure from Ktm. to Zhangmu 2500m. 125 km. Early morning scenic drive to Kodari ( Nepal - Tibet Border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and a short walk uphill with porter to Zhangmu Immigration
Day 04	Zhangmu - Xegar 4350m. 244 km. Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with typical views of the Tibetan landscpe, standing on the roof of the world. Crossing over Nyalamu Pass 3800m. and Lalung- La (5050m). Breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges.
Day 05	Xegar-Xigatse 3900m. 90 km. Continue scenic drive, crossing over Gyatchu-La (5220m.), the highest pass en route to Lhasa from where a road to Mt. Kailash bifurcates to the west.
Day 06	Xigatse - Gyantse (3950m.) 90 km. Morning sightseeing at the Panchan Lama's Tashi Lumpu Monastery. Drive to Gyantse and visit to Kumbum Stupa and Phaskor Monastery.
Day 07	Gyantse - Lhasa 3650 m. 261 km. Full day picturesque drive crossing over Karola (5010m.) Kamba - La (4794m.), then around turquoise Yamdrok lake.
Day 08-09	In Lhasa Two full days sightseeing to Lhasa including Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazar, Potala Palace, Drepung and Sera monasteries.
Day 10	Lhasa - Kathmandu Early morning drive to Gonggar airport for departure flight to Kathmandu.
Day 11	Free day in Kathmandu
Day 12	Final departure from Kathmandu.
