Within this mountainous country with deep valleys and high peaks, trade routes connecting communities have been vital. Until Nepal was open to he outside world in early 1950, these were the only communication roads.
On this tour we trace a part of some of these old trails that once linked Kathmandu to India via Raxaul, which carried cross-country trading that took weeks & months of walking. Starting our journey from Thankot, a village about 2 km along the Raj Path (Highway), the trail passes through typical Nepali villages the forests of oaks and rhododendrons with exceptional views of Langtang Himal ranges. Descending towards Kulekhani dam, we make our journey toward Daman (2800m.) a vantage point which possibly commands one of the best views of mountains in Nepal. We conclude our short trekking journey with a stay at the exceptional mountain resort, The Everest Panorama .
